Football Player Held on Charge of Bigamy

Grand Island, Neb., Nov. 8 (AP) - Harold Werner, alias Mounts Burns, athlete and football player, of Carlisle, Pa., is held by police here on the charge of bigamy, proferred at Carlisle. Werner arrived here three wekks ago with a young wife who is being care for at the home of Chief of Police Campbell. She declares she knew nothing of the charges but cannot see the reason for some acts of her husband heretofore unexplained. Werner admits he went to Carlisle to play football under the assumed name of Burns. The wife states they were married under the latter name.1
