Bratton Reunion 1906

Bratton Family Had Reunion near Ryde, 244 attending.

Lewistown, Pa., Oct. 11 - The Bratton family held their first family reunion recently at the old original homestead, near Ryde Station, in Bratton township. Eighty-five of the old stock of Brattons were present, one hundred and three relatives by marriage, and fifty-six visitors, making in all 244 present.

The oldest member of the family present was Charles Bratton, the present owner of the old homestead, who was within a few days of his 75th milestone. He was the great grandson of James Bratton, who obtained the original grant of the land now owned by the Brattons and built thehouse in which Charles Bratton now resides, in 1760.

There was never a death in the family until August 5 of the present year, when Grace E. passed away. The family formed a permanent organization b electing W. C. Donnley president, Harry C. Bratton vice president, Miss Mabel Bratton secretary and Miss Annie Marklin treasurer. The reunion will be held a week earlier next year.
