Letter postmarked 10/7/1930 from Philadelphia, addressed to Mr. and Mrs. David M. Mcfarland, Rosedale ave., West Chester, Penna. Letterhead reads: 208 North Thirty-Fifth Street. The handwriting from this letter matches some of the entries in the Bonsall bible records, so it is evident that the Bible was in E. Warner Bonsall's possession for some time.

Dear Helen and David:
I was indeed pleased with your gift and the fact that you remembered my birthday, it suits me and I shall use it.
As you know we had a busy last week at Bryn Mawr and took over five Blues including the Championship, this made 16 straight wins for Pat and Peach.
Pat left Tuesday morning for Baltimore and reports up to the present are good, am afraid we are going to be pretty darn lonely around here.
Had a nice letter from Julian the first for many months, he seems to think his new venture will go and I hope so.
